Handmade Mother's Day Memory board in bright greeens made by applying mixed media techniques to a book cover.

Mother's Day Memory Board

Scrapbooking is a great way to craft and upcycle your memory keeping. The last memory I wanted to save is of Mother’s Day, so I decided to create this keepsake using a vintage book cover, walnut ink, and Fireworks Shimmery Sprays. It's not your traditional scrapbook page, but is a great piece to see at home and treasure the memory!

Upcycle tea tin made with mixed media techniques and tools.

Upcycled Tea Tin

I love upcycling old, found items. In today's video, I give this tea tin has a fresh new shabby chic look while still holding on to that vintage feel using the VersaFine Clair ink in Fallen Leaves paired with the Walnut ink. I love this way this turned out and hopefully, you will give this project a try.

Blue mixed media canvas with embossed elements and the words

Rebel Genius Canvas with Stamped Embossing

To create this cool Rebel Canvas I used the new MBoss Hologram embossing powder with a fun, classic technique to create a stamped impression in the embossing powder. The new Hologram embossing powder is soooo gorgeous and fun to use. I love that the new MBoss packaging allows for precision application and easy cleanup!

Handmade decor or art piece made with Vertigo crafting sheets and StazOn Pigment inks.

Mum Flower Decor Piece

There is nothing better than using your crafting skills to create a gift for someone. That is what I did for this mum, or chrysanthemum, flower project—a gift for my mom. (Get it - a mum for mom?!) Crucial to achieving this fun look, I used Vertigo in Prism and Mboss Embossing Powder in Hologram. I created a 5”x 5” framed Mixed Media piece full of color and texture. See the video slideshow or my instructions below to see how I get some extra dimension with the Vertigo sheet!

Artist trading cards featuring dragonflies made out of Vertigo crafting sheets.

Vertigo Dragonfly ATCs

This cardmaking project is all about using layers of ink to create a collage background with stamps and stencils. It’s a great way to build a cool background in order to feature that perfect focal image, like a Vertigo, die cut dragonfly.

Selfie themed scrapbook layout with a hand-built mixed media background

Mixed Media Selfie Scrapbook Background Layout

It has been such a long time since I have done a scrapbook layout. I really miss doing them! I used several different Imagine products to create the background for my layout: Creative Medium, Fireworks Shimmery Craft Sprays, Delicata, Brilliance, VersaMagic, and StazOn Pigment Ink. Watch my video below for details on how I created this fun background for my Selfie themed layout.

Handmade mixed media inspired wedding card with silver and white tones

Mixed Media Inspired Wedding Card

‘Tis the season to send that special couple an elegant handmade card wishing them a Happily Ever After.  This quick and easy card was made with Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink, a stencil and some pretty trimmings.  It came together quickly but should leave a lasting impression on the pair of lovebirds!

Handmade gift tag featuring a dragonfly and flowers in Rose Gold color.

Rose Gold Dragonfly and Floral Gift Tag

I have limited space for craft supplies and am always looking for ways to get multiple uses out of a single supply. One way to accomplish this, for example, is to keep a stash of white paper flowers in different sizes and color them to match your project.  This way, you don’t have to make room for multiple packages of pre-colored flowers. See how I create a Rose Gold Dragonfly theme gift tag using several of Imagine's and Tsukineko's inks.

Decorated canvas made with a galaxy theme using StazOn Pigment on Black Chalk.

Galaxy Themed Mixed Media Canvas

I used StazOn Pigment ink in many of the gorgeous, vibrant new colors on a black chalkboard background and the colors look fantastic! You can even see the purple on black...WHAT?! You have to see for yourself. This project couldn't have been created successfully without the new StazOn Pigment ink. It is opaque, so it shows up great on dark surfaces AND it has all of the wonderful properties that the original StazOn has—it can be applied to many different surfaces and dries quickly. I think I've found a new obsession.

Collage of images created by stamping StazOn Pigment on watercolor paper elements and layering together.

Stamped "Collage" using StazOn Pigment

I love StazOn Pigment ink about as much as I love stamping!  Finding ways to maximize the use of this mixed media ink would be a big win in my book! How to go about achieving this goal? A stamped collage, of course!  Multiple stamps + multiple StazOn Pigment inks = Happy Stamper!
