DIY Stamped Retro 50's Apron

I knew I wanted to make an apron the minute I received these fun retro kitchen stamps…stamping on fabric? Yes you can, with the help of Memento Luxe Ink Pads and Fabrico Markers it’s a snap. I was able to stamp, highlight and even dye the ruffled trim with ease. You can stamp and sew an apron from scratch as I have done or simply purchase a pre-sewn, plain apron to embellish.

Love in Any Language

When asked to do a project for Peace, Love and Understanding, I immediately grabbed for this oh so cute stamp and die set. In the background you will find "I Love You" in French and Braille, stamped with an ink pad so close to Kraft, you can barely tell its there. The adorable sign language embellishment really finishes this card.

Hard Work = Great Achievements

“No great achievement is accomplished without a bit of hard work.” So true so true and Labor Day is the perfect day to kick back and acknowledge those achievements! Each and every person has a job of some sort…be it a factory job, an office worker, a Stay-At-Home Mom, a job in the military, fire or police departments, farmers, service, repair, and more! Everyone has a job they preform, we salute you! Thanks for your hard work.

The Power of Woman

This is my Woman’s Equality Day project with a little wink. It shows the original 1971 Resolution Text in the background (thank you Wikipedia). Ladies, everyone of us has got the power to make the world a little bit better day by day. We delite ourself and others with our handmade gifts, cards and decorations. So let’s craft :)

Girl Power!

Here’s a salute to all the women I know…and that goes for you! We don’t take credit for all the super things we do on a day to day basis…from stay-at-home mom’s taking care of homes, their family and all the extra errands that randomly pop up. To the working women who answer to many bosses and wears numerous hats. To the farm or ranch woman that rises before her husband to make sure he has what he needs to start the day. We are the people who keep it together, are a source of inspiration and touch so many peoples lives in little ways we may never know. Give yourself a pat on the back and let’s flex our muscles and show off our Girl Power!

Suede Travel Journal

Enjoy the journey as much as the destination and record every memory made along the way in this fun, easy collage style travel journal. The finished size of this travel journal is: inside - 4" x 6" pages with an extra 1/2" for the binding; outside: approximately 6" x 6.5" and has two inside flaps to protect the pages and extra ephemera tucked inside as well as the front and back cover and a wrap-around strap closure. A pocket was sewn into the back of the cover to slip in the bound journal pages.

Postcards from the Road

Remember the days when we drove around with Thomas Guides in our cars? Big books of maps that not only helped you navigate the area but you had to learn how to navigate the book! Today the maps are likely outdated but quite useful for all sorts of projects.

Travel Treasure Shadow Box

Isn't it funny all of the little bits and pieces you collect on a road trip...everything from bottle caps, sea shells collected on the beach, sand saved in tiny bottles to the tacky tourist offerings like plastic hula dolls, pink rubber flamingos and the ever popular key chains.  Well this kitschy shadow box is just the ticket to save all those funky bits in one place.

Retro Picture Frame

A few days after we were asked to do an upcycling project I got hold of an old and ugly plastic picture frame. There were two choices: chuck it away or pimp it up. Of course I did the last one, and now it is the perfect frame to present a photo showing my beloved Dad in the 1960s. This technique using Creative Medium and Embossing Powder is very easy to do and gives a true metallic retro effect.

irRESISTible Easter Bunny

With Easter around the corner I was inspired to dig out some of my favorite themed stamps to play with and make a quick card, and this bunny is one of my all time favorite images. It's playful and funky at the same time. I teamed the bunny with this cute little jellybean stamp transformed by Memento inks and irRESISTible medium in Dandelion - perfect for a bright and fun celebration.
